Musim kemarau telah melanda Kabupaten Lumajang dan air bersih mulai menyusut. Tercatat dari tanggal (10/9), sebanyak sebanyak 14.809 jiwa yang tersebar di 12 desa dan 4 kecamatan telah terdampak kekeringan. BPBD telah menyalurkan bantuan air bersih secara bertahap melalui 191 titik distribusi di lapangan. Kebutuhan air tersebut digunakan untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari seperti mandi, memasak, mencuci, dan lainnya. Terjadinya krisis air tersebut karena menyusutnya sumber air dan menipisnya persediaan air hujan yang sebelumnya ditampung dalam tandon rumah warga. Yudhi Cahyono selaku Kabid Kedaruratan BPBD Kabupaten Lumajang mengatakan distribusi air bersih terus dilakukan selama musim kemarau. Ia menjelaskan bahwa krisis air disebabkan karena debit sejumlah sumber air yang selama ini digunakan warga mulai menipis. Demi memperkuat pengamanan, Pemkab Lumajang telah menetapkan masa tanggap darurat kekeringan, krisis air bersih, dan kebakaran hutan selama 90 hari. Yudhi juga menerangkan bahwa masa tanggap darurat tersebut berlaku mulai 10 Juli hingga 7 Oktober 2026.
