Once on a first date the guy asked me what kind of build I liked to play in D&D, I answered with either fighter/rouges but I also really liked playing barbarians. He replied “Huh, I would’ve thought some kind of healer, that’s what most girls are good at” Suffice to say he did not get a second date, mostly because that was actually the least offensive thing he said/did on the date.

I played as a female character and had this happen to her. I deliberately let her get killed of ( hurt to do it because she was everything I ever wanted in a little sister) and because the DM had a rule we could bring in any established character to replace them I brought in my brothers Darth Revan from a campaign he did where they used double dice. Then I turned around and whipped out everyone in the party that was trying stuff with my female character. 😈 Best campaign ever 😂

Romance or adult content in DnD is opt in, not opt out. The default should always be to assume it's not ok until explicitly agreed to.

this is why for my coworker DnD group we're starting, I insisted on DMing instead of my male coworker who has a toxic group. I run a table that prioritizes player comfort, and I want to show him how a positive group can be, and be able to nip any bad behavior in the bud

As a professional DM, that group is a problem and should have been stopped by the DM immediately. Good that he shut down the pressuring to play a healer, but that doesn't excuse not doing anything for the rest of the behavior
