@dailymailsportusa: NFL legend Drew Brees pondered coming out of retirement last season after Broncos quarterback Bo Nix suffered a broken ankle in their overtime playoff victory against the Buffalo Bills. According to ESPN, Broncos then-offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and offensive assistant Pete Carmichael had discussions with Brees about Brees coming out of retirement to be ready for the AFC Championship game. Brees had just turned 47 years old just two days before Nix sustained the ankle injury Jan. 17. Brees spoke to the Broncos coaches before the AFC Championship game informing them he wanted to first work out and see how his body would respond. However once he worked out, Brees found discomfort in his wrist and decided not to come out of retirement. #drewbrees #bonix #denverbroncos #broncos #nfl
