@cnbc: White House energy advisor Jarrod Agen told CNBC's Morgan Brennan that the U.S. needs to increase refining capacity as domestic refineries operate near full capacity and outages abroad tighten global #fuel markets. Watch more at the #linkinbio or the link on screen. #CNBC

You can build refineries in the US to process our own crude instead of shipping light crude overseas and importing heavy crude. Its all a shell game.

refinery operator here. yes we are all operating at 100% capacity. normally we only produce at 80%. but no, they arent doing a single thing to boost production. we need more pipelines and we need less regulation so that we can build more refineries.

Odd that the last full scale refinery was built back in 1977. The population gets larger yearly therefore we use more fuel. Just doesn’t math out. We must do a lot better job in planning. Environmental and all the restrictions must change. We can accomplish all build and refine and protect the environment. Oil isn’t going anyway.

There are refineries ready to be built but they are stuck in the permitting process for years. These could have be built a decade ago and it would be a non issue.

We aren’t refining lean oil. We need that to make more fuel/gas. Instead corporations export about it cheaper.
