I reviewed 24 of them last week. #NotionAI #ClaudeCode, #Codex, #Manus, #Lindy etc. Most of them have no actual memory that survives past the weeks of work you're in. Watch how a session actually starts. You paste the context back in. The project background. The decision you made in March and why. The client constraint. The approach you already tried that failed. You are doing manual knowledge retrieval. For a machine. We spent 20 years selling knowledge management to humans and it stayed niche, because note-taking is work and the payoff is far away. That changed this year, and not because humans got more organised. What moved is the return. Organising notes used to serve future-you, who might never open them. Now it feeds an agent that reads all of it today and does the work. Same activity, completely different payoff. Knowledge management stopped being a habit. It became infrastucture. Which is why I think this race gets decided on memory, not capability. Doing keeps getting cheaper. Every release turns execution further into a commodity. Knowing you does not get cheaper. Your decisions, your threads, your reasons. Whoever holds that context wins. Right now nobody does, because it sits in ten apps that don't talk to each other. That's what I'm building Timeln for.
