@sarahthegemini8: The last 4 or 5 years have been a soul quake in almost every area of our lives. Friendships. Family. Home. Business. Faith. Plans we thought were certain. People we thought would always be there. Things we thought our children would grow up with. Some seasons don’t just change your life—they reveal it. And through all of it, one thing I have become more certain of is this: Having a husband who genuinely loves God and his family, protects his family, provides for his family and leads his family is not a controlling man. It’s a rare gift from God. For years, my husband and I have been the brunt of cruel, mean spirited attacks and sometimes downright evil allegations—not just from strangers, but from people who were supposed to love us, support us and maybe I assumed, protect us. People who tried to tear apart something they didn’t understand and couldn’t see truth from the inside despite the truth being right in front of them. But what they didn’t expect, is I know this man who will NEVER quit fighting for his family, for truth and for those who can’t stand. The man who carries the weight when things get hard. The man who loves his children fiercely. The man who has continued to lead our family toward God when life would have made it easier to walk away. We have not built this life because everything has been easy. We’ve built it through obedience, faith, soul crushing pain, loss, building and rebuilding and a whole lot of trusting God when we couldn’t see what He was doing. And yes, there are things we’ve have had to grieve deeply. My children will probably never know the big family I once pictured for them. They may never have the relationships, traditions, or memories I imagined when I dreamed about what our family would look like. But they will know the people who stayed. The people who asked us what really happened. They will know the small group of people who loved them, who truly cared and NEVER made them question whether or not they mattered or belonged. Sometimes God removes people, places, and relationships not to punish us, but to protect what He is building. So here we are. Still standing. Still choosing each other. Still choosing our children. Still choosing God. Because I trust the God who brought us through the quake—and I trust the man He gave me to walk through it with. ❤️
