@ajp_golf_: ELITE GOLF SWING DOs & DON’Ts! Practice individual pieces, and then combine everything into one fluid motion. Today I’ve got some rehearsals and drills that will teach you how to keep your body perfectly in sync while teaching your hands and wrists to compliment your body’s movements. A simple golf swing more or less maintains the sternum, the belt buckle, certain parts of the hands, and the club face all mirroring each other throughout the entire golf swing. These are all rotational movements where those points (the sternum, the belt buckle, the hands, and the club face) are all working together. These first two clips show sliding and chopping motions where the sternum, the belt buckle, the hands, and the club face are not connected, and these movements will typically produce inconsistent shots. Golf swings that lack connectedness usually result in bad tempo, an inefficient weight transfer, an inability to release the club and almost certainly don’t allow a player to finish the swing in balance. If you struggle with any of these issues— try the drills and rehearsals in this video. Make slow and intentional swings, where you feel like you’re making perfect semicircle rotations and your sternum, club face, hands, and belt buckle are all mirroring each other— from the Takeaway and all the way through impact. Then hit shots where this is the feel you’re trying to maintain. During each of these reps, try to load more of your weight into your trail side during the backswing, and then fire off from the inside of your trail foot during the downswing so all your weight gets forward and you’re able to get to a balanced finish pose at the end of the swing. Let that club wrap around you, and show us your spikes. Find FLUIDITY. Get everything working together. Pedal down! Be grateful, be present, and good luck out there, y’all! #golf #golftip #driver #pro #lesson
