i’m a regular state employee, if i have anything work related on my phone, it’s subject to FOIA requests and work related subpoena. this SHOULD (in theory) open their personal devices up to FOIA (we all know it wouldn’t have a leg to stand on, unfortunately)

I worked for a housing firm and was approached by more than one local law enforcement agency in 2024, that requested the property’s security cameras be connected to their network “just in case of an incident.” Basically unrestricted back door access to the camera system. My employer said no. Not sure about other landlords. 😐
