@zerodollarcoaching: Passed-Over Promotion You passed them over for the promotion… then asked them to train their new boss on Monday? When you force a loyal worker to train the person chosen over them, they don’t hear "we need your help." They hear "we don't value you enough to pay you." Employees: If you get asked to train your new boss… are you training them, or updating your résumé? #leadership #management #businessowner #entrepreneur #worklifebalance
It’s probably because replacing the employee will be harder

A task is not the same as having leadership skills. Not everyone is meant to be a supervisor

I was all for helping people you get no real thanks so unless you are paid to train people dont tell them anything. unless they are wet behind the ears willing to help and hard working. if they are on a phone all day stuff em all

They hired my replacement but it wasn't my first rodeo so I helped them just enough to do the job but not right, so they didn't end up working out

different scenarios for different aspects, for one you hire a seasoned supervisor, he has been supervising in said field for 5 years and knows how to run a crew and job with proven results but he doesn't know the mine per say, a underground mine at that, now he's been in underground mines and lot of them but doesn't know all the drifts in this mine cause its day one of the mine, then yes you train them

Literally happened to me 5 years ago. my manager left, he set me up for the position (hotel maintenance manager), the new GM said no and got someone different then "Can you show him everything here". 2 week notice hit in less than 2 months.
