I started leaning into the thing I already had that younger creators can’t manufacture overnight: LIFE EXPERIENCE. Because when brands are trying to reach women and men in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond, they need creators who actually understand that customer. And that can completely change how you approach your UGC. Here are 3 things I started doing: 🎯 1. I speak to REAL problems my audience has Instead of generic hooks like: “Wait until you see this…” I might say: “If your knees aren’t what they used to be, you’re going to want to see this.” Or: “I don't know about you, but I’m at the age where I want my skincare routine to be SIMPLE.” Those hooks immediately tell the right person, this is for me. 🎥 2. I use my actual life in the story One of the biggest advantages of being 50+ is that you have YEARS of experiences to pull from. Maybe you're filming a kitchen gadget: “I cook a lot more at home now, and anything that saves me time in the kitchen gets my attention.” Or you're filming a travel product: “I've reached the point where I want to travel, but I don't want to spend half my vacation uncomfortable.” Or a beauty product: “I've tried enough skincare products over the years to know that I'm not interested in a 12-step routine anymore.” THAT is the kind of authenticity brands are looking for. 📣 3. I make the recommendation feel like a recommendation Instead of sounding like you're reading an advertisement, imagine you're telling a friend about something you genuinely discovered. “I wish I'd found this sooner.” “I've been using this for a few weeks and here's what surprised me…” “If you're dealing with the same thing, this might be worth checking out.” You're not pretending to be 25. You're not trying to sound like a professional spokesperson. You're simply showing up as YOU. And that's exactly why I believe being over 50 can be an advantage in UGC. Brands aren't only looking for young creators. They need creators who can connect with their actual customers. And there are MILLIONS of customers over 50. So don't hide your age. Use it #ugcforbeginners #womenover50 #ugctipsforbeginners
