I was adopted when I was 3 and I never called my parents my “adopted parents” They were just mom and dad. And they NEVER called me their “adopted daughter”, I was just their daughter! Adoption does not mean that you are a “true” family. My mom used to tell that being adopted meant I was special. She used to say, “when you are born into a family, you are “stuck” with you child or parents but being adopted meant that you were chosen.” My mom and dad chose me to love!

Absolutely agree. I have a granddaughter that was adopted from Haiti. She is my granddaughter just like the rest of my bio grandchildren. I love every one of them with all my heart.
