@global.crisis3: September 14, 2026 | State of Mexico, Mexico 🇲🇽 Heavy downpours caused severe flooding in several municipalities in the State of Mexico. Ecatepec and Tlalnepantla were affected the most, where powerful currents of water flooded streets, homes, and cars. In some places, the water depth exceeded 45 cm (18 inches). In the Carlos Jiménez Cantú neighborhood in Ecatepec, torrents of water swept away several vehicles and various debris, while in the Hank González neighborhood, the water turned streets into raging rivers. Residential homes and businesses were damaged. In Tlalnepantla, heavy flooding of streets and roads was also reported, including in the Tulpetlac area. The torrential rains led to the flooding of a section of the Mexico City–Querétaro highway in the Tlalnepantla region. Heavy hail also hit the municipalities of Cuautitlán Izcalli, Zumpango, Tultitlán, and Teoloyucan.
