It is changing my whole home and how I show up as a single mom. Our home is matriarchal. We are a community. We have a whiteboard where we meet and share our needs and if we all agree we add it to the board. I also teach my girls they don’t need a dad or a mom. They are sovereign. They choose their family. That changes how we show up. We show up and choose eachother because of love, kindness, and care. Not manipulation. And also, blaming an absent dad’s emotional bankruptcy doesn’t land on my kids, there is no such thing as a father wound or daddy issues. There is just a grown boy somewhere that is emotionally stunted. Not their fault.
