My ears were pierced at only a few months old. They were then neglected and the skin grew over the backs of my earrings not once but 3 times in my childhood. It became infected and I had to have medical intervention all 3 times and nothing ever happened to anyone who was supposed to be taking care of it. It was obviously painful and now as an adult I barely wear earrings anyway because guess what? They are extremely uneven from being done when I was so tiny. And I've met probably a dozen other people with serious unevenness due to the same thing.

I did because they cry for about a minute and then they are fine. They never mess with their earrings because they are so used to them and I think it’s adorable. But I totally get why some people can’t.

I never pierced any of my children’s ears until they asked for it, and I explained that it was going to hurt and it was completely up to them

I waited until my daughter was old enough to ask for it. She was 9 when she finally decided she wanted it done.

I got my daughter’s ears pierced at three months and she kinda looked at me and gave her a sucker and she was happy as a peach… now this doesn’t happen to all babies, but yes, I did get my daughter’s ears pierced young

I really think they should wait until the kid ASK to get their ears pierced! I used to work in a mall years ago across from Claire's and it was always babies screaming. You could tell the Parents were doing it to make their girl appear more feminine. It's them being selfish bc they think it will make their daughter look better.

My oldest will be 16 and shes had her ears pierced since she was 7. My other two still dont have their ears pierced and they are 8 and 5. When they tell me they want it done then ill take them to a tattoo and piercing shop and use a needle. Do not ever use a piercing gun.

I hate this. It hurts SO BAD to get your ears pierced. All to put a permanent hole in the baby’s ears without their consent.
