South African women are tired of being told to “be careful” while the people killing us are still free. In 1956, 20,000 women went to the Union Buildings, stood in silence for 30 minutes, and made the country listen. We need that same peaceful, united action now: a women-led silent march demanding urgent investigations, accountability, safe public spaces and real action against GBV.
