@francis_20_20: 86 years ago, the skies above this country were a battlefield. Young men climbed into Spitfires and Hurricanes knowing that some of them would not return. On the ground, radar operators, engineers, ground crews, firefighters, nurses and ordinary civilians all played their part. They weren't fighting for recognition. They were fighting because Britain had to be defended. Different backgrounds. Different nationalities. One purpose. Hold the line. Defend these islands. The Britain we inherited wasn't inevitable. It exists because generations before us were prepared to defend it, rebuild it and pass it on. Patriotism doesn't require hatred of anybody else. It means remembering where we came from, respecting those who sacrificed for it, and believing this country is still worth being proud of. 🇬🇧 Britain. 🌹 Our history. 🫡 Their sacrifice.
