@drwrinklestopper: Stitch with @Kristina.maay who knows that while azelaic acid is having its moment, let’s not forget about our girl glycolic acid (or any alpha hydroxy acid) I’ve prescribed azelaic acid for years and am especially a fan for patients who are pregnant or struggle with using topical actives. It’s relatively gentle, can help with blunting the pigment pathway but she is definitely supporting actress energy. If you already tolerate a retinoid and want a product that is like the windex to your glass skin routine, apply an AHA like glycolic acid 2x a week in lieu of tretinoin (never the same night!) and come back here later to thank me. I really like to incorporate glycolic acid in the form of topical pads. Lmk if you want a list of my favorites below! #glassskinroutine #azelaicacid #tretinoin #retinolskincare #glycolicacid
The Ordinary has a great glycolic acid. I only do it two nights a week and skip tret when I do it.

This is 🔥. I alternate with Paula’s Choice BHA liquid. I use Skin1004 azelaic acid and high potency retinal every night (can’t use tret)

Will that not make your skin react by skipping nights of Tret? If I miss a night my skin gets a little patchy in places like around my nose. 🫣

My skin hates glycolic acid. Any other option? I do azelaic acid in am. Tret at night.

AM: I use vit c and azelaic 15. PM: I use tret 0.05 and azelaic acid 15 again. Def work your way up to that. Been on tret for years. I use glycolic acid about 1 night a week. No other PM actives when I use glycolic. I love the texture of my skin! Your skincare should be dynamic. Some days are more moisture-oriented. Some days not so much is needed. I do still work in some rest days/nights where I don’t use any actives at all. Listen to your skin and adjust as needed.

I use barrier toner then vit c serum then azelaic acid cream then moisturizer then sunscreen. They say that I need to apply vit c serum first for better antioxidant protection etc... etc...

How do people use so many actives on tret? 😫 I can only apply 0.5% once a week, typically Saturday night. Anymore and my skin will be raw. And I only use a gentle moisturiser + sunscreen. It would take until after 4-5 days to be able to use actives again…
