@whatisfemidoing: Have influencers infiltrated New York Fashion Week? The simple answer is yes. But honestly, this was probably the natural progression of things. New York Fashion Week's very early, early, early beginnings started in press week, where Eleanor Lambert invited a bunch of press to come and view fashion from American designers to potentially feature them in their magazines. And while Fashion Week has definitely evolved so much since then, we kind of have the influencers acting like the press. Because most people don't view magazines anymore. A lot of people do have social media, and influencers, whether you like it or not, are the people driving the clicks, driving the views, and be able to give these brands the exposure that they're looking for. Now, personally, do I really care? Not really, but I do wish that they would target more fashion-oriented influencers that have a really deep knowledge of fashion and could translate what they're seeing to people like me who do not know fashion at all. #fashionweek #nyfw #newyorkfashionweek
