I was a manager of a coffee place and I was closing with a new girl one night. she started spotting and I was like hey. in the bathroom I have a cabinet for you girls and in my office there is a box of donated pants and such for accidents. next night she came in she was like I've never had a job openly have products and I was like. it's the minimum as a man to provide these things for my staff. like this is wild and ridiculous

yeah that’s a power trip. that’s why you ALWAYS listen to the people who say to not work for family owned businesses. majority of the time they want your labor but not your cost so they pay you but overwork you. and then on top of that they disrespect the FUCK out of you just to fire you right after. that’s why i always keep some pads and a variety of tampons on me because if people ask then im able to help without my money going unappreciated and wasted.

I had a girl when I was a manager, that I sent to the bathroom to clean, with a roll of paper towels, extra tp to replace, and cleaning supplies. She spent over 40 mins in there, and came out, and said she was done. I went to the bathroom to check later, and she had sat in there on her phone, and then threw the full rolls of toilet paper, and paper towels into the trash, instead of cleaning.

we stopped at a truck stop/cafe on a road trip once and somebody had clearly bought in their OWN furniture to give mothers somewhere to breastfeed, a full length mirror and a cabinet stocked with supplies. it really stuck with me how much they cared and made me want to try the food. they’re in the wrong, compassion for your customers makes them want to support your business.

i got fired for advocating and speaking up for one of my coworkers after our boss dumped out the brest milk that she had been working so damn hard to pump for her baby and i have no regrets! i’m a firefighter/medic, waitressing was my second job so i didn’t have much to lose lol. my coworker/friend was also fired and i felt awful because im the one who blew up and made a scene because i was so furious for her after seeing her sobbing but when my captain heard the story, he asked her her number and hired her to do some admin things around the firehouse! now she is treated as part of our family, free to pump all day long if she wants and has her own drawer in the fridge and freezer for her milk!

was living with my bsf/now roommate and her grandma a few years ago. bsf and i shared a bathroom and it was just us, women, so we kept our pads/tampons in a basket on top of the toilet so it was easier to change them. her uncle came one day and all of a sudden her grandma was saying we needed to take them off the top of the toilet or get kicked out because HE was uncomfortable seeing them? he has daughters and a wife. and does not live there. people are so weird
