I go to booking.com because I want to stay at a hotel not airbnb, if you put your property on a hotel website then you need to expect to act like a hotel

i once asked for an early check in. was told no because of the cleaning situation, BUT they offered to let us drop off our luggage to be stored in a locked shed on the property when we arrived. it was super thoughtful and honestly thats all we wanted anyway - to drop off our luggage.

The guest has no way of knowing if someone was checking out that morning. Asking if early check in is possible is completely reasonable.

Yeah the early check in thing is understandable I’ve been told now because of cleaning but I could drop off my luggage and if they finished early they’d let me know they did end up finishing early and it was no big deal we ended up going for food so still came at the regular time.

That’s why I love hotels. My bf is a diamond level Hilton honors member and we usually get 2 hour late checkout when we need it free of charge

Pet fees for renting a cabin is not reasonable. I'm renting the full property. The number of pets, guests, or occupants shouldn't affect the price. Stating a max occupancy for fire and safety reasons is reasonable however.

Why she acting like she can’t say no to the early check in? I once stayed at an Airbnb. I requested early check in, my host was not sure because they had guests check out. And needed to make sure cleaners had enough time for turnover. He said check back in closer to arrival time. I did he was able to accommodate it. I requested it at a hotel once. The property was full the night before they couldn’t accommodate it. I was cool and understanding.

I’d almost bet money he was trying to clarify something about the pet fee, maybe whether it’s a fee or a deposit or if it’s total or per pet and then just asked if an early check in was possible and that the host’s responses to their questions are a bigger reason they cancelled the stay than the actual fees
