Luke 16:18 isn’t a weapon Jesus gave us to shame divorced people. Context matters. Jesus was confronting the Pharisees and their hard-hearted abuse of divorce law, not giving us permission to condemn everyone who has ever experienced divorce. In Matthew 19, Jesus addresses divorce in more detail and specifically acknowledges sexual immorality. Paul also addresses abandonment in 1 Corinthians 7. Jesus consistently confronted hard hearts while showing incredible compassion toward hurting people. If we’re going to quote Scripture, we should probably read the whole conversation instead of pulling one verse out to condemn people. Grace and truth were never enemies in Jesus. ❤️

People fixate on this verse but disregard every verse which talks about how men are to treat their wives. They think marriage is just a binding contract to which you don’t have to live up to any of the biblical terms of said contract. Abusing and mistreating your wife, being lazy and making her work overtime is not what the bible describes as marriage. That’s slavery.

you have to be very careful with this verse. its not just divorce that is the sin its rejecting the wonderful gift of a wife that is given to you by god. so if the woman is cheating on you and treating you like trash god will always understand if you leave her! god bless you for making this video everyone have a wonderful day
