i use grease blue magic Indian hemp to soften my hair completely with a WATER BASED leave in conditioner , i use a SOFT nail brush to get my hair down NOT a regular brush , i also do my edges with the nail brush and i also dont do my hair in sections i put it back in one go so my hair isn’t breaking and releasing a lot of tension during the day ( i have 4c hair )

You could try similar styles like braids, cornrows or something creative that emulates a similar shape. But do be careful about the tension especially the hairline cause traction alopecia ain’t a joke 😭. I usually tell the girls to prime the hair with a hydrating curl cream before a gel for moisture and protection!

Same! I love the slick-back look on my face too, so what I do is get cornrows in a slick-back style and put them in a bun. That way I get the same look without constantly slicking my hair back and causing breakage.

You don’t have to keep doing slick backs with your natural hair if you’re worried about damaging it. You can switch it up with braids we have so many styles, even with those thin pencil braids that are plaited close to the natural hair,or wear a lace wig in a slick back style . You can still look good without putting too much stress on your natural hair. You will look very good. Just make sure the styles aren’t too tight and take care of your hair underneath.
