From the Shadows to His Light: A Testimony of Grace My journey began in Napanee, Ontario. After my parents' marriage broke down during my youth, I turned to drugs to numb the pain. What started as an escape quickly spiraled into a devastating addiction. I spent years trapped in a cycle of crime, going to jail more times than I could count and hurting the people closest to me to support my habit. Thirteen years ago, that path brought me to the end of myself. I took a lethal combination of methadone, Valium, and crystal meth. My heart stopped, and I flatlined for 25 minutes. The medical team gave my family no hope, stating I wouldn't survive the night—and that if a miracle happened, I would be left completely brain-dead. Man declared my life over, but God declared His purpose for me had just begun. Through the unconditional love and intervention of God and Jesus, I was pulled back from death. My survival wasn't a coincidence; it was a resurrection. I was kept alive to stand as a witness to His infinite mercy and to share the transformative power of a relationship with Him. My physical journey today comes with daily obstacles. I use a wheelchair and a walker to navigate my days, and speaking takes real effort. But I refuse to be discouraged. I hold tightly to James 1:27 and the promise that true devotion is forged through endurance, service, and unwavering trust in Him. Every physical trial I face only deepens my faith and prepares my heart for God’s next blessing. I am here to tell you that no matter how deep the pit you find yourself in, God's reach is deeper. He turned my darkest hour into my greatest purpose.
