If there’s one thing you must do go to the iceberg lagoon it’s unreal

Definitely go to glacier lagoon! Agreed sky lagoon was way better than the blue lagoon. Wish I’d packed more pullover sweatshirts to layer with. Bring a warm waterproof jacket, rain pants and waterproof hiking shoes! We just got back if you want my itinerary ☺️

A very thin old beach towel. You are going to need to dry things and yourself off on the road.

the soup company! food in Iceland is expensive but we found this restaurant to be worth the money, you get seconds :’) they let us choose another soup after we finished the first one and it comes in nice bread bowl! if you’re going to eat out and don’t want to run up a huge check this is a fair option. It was recommended to us by locals ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ

If you have a checked bag included I filled my TJ’s reusable cooler bag with snacks/dry goods (you can bring up to 2kg/person into EU). Food is so expensive so you can bring snacks you already have and the insulated bag is great for car!

I thought Reynisfjara Beach was way too crowded and not even that pretty 🫣 we went to Stokksnes beach near höfn that same day in the evening and was completely blown away. If you want to see black sand beach, go to that one.

Zero need for sneakers. Only wore boots everywhere. I wish I didn’t pack sneakers with how much room the they took up in my carryon.

The neck cover that’s like a scarf that protects from the sun/wind! The wind kind of slaps you and a scarf can feel like too much and I’d say the neck cover would help

Waterproof legit everything - jacket, backpack, pants, hiking boots. Be prepared to pay $50-70 for basic meals like example 2 hotdogs and 2 cokes

Don’t forget sunglasses and water shoes. Some lagoons are mucky at the bottom

I have lots of recs on my page however, sky lagoon is my favorite, pack for all weather especially rain, if it rains don’t let it ruin your plans it adds to the Iceland vibe, golden circle is overrated (because it’s so busy) compared to other sights the country has to offer, EGILS APPELSÍN (it’s their orange soda and I think about it daily), play I spy sheep and you will find them in the craziest spots (also be careful driving they like to hang out on the road), the water is so tasty, whale watching on the speed boats was one of my favorite activities, the locals care so much about the land and respecting Mother Nature and its so enjoyable and inspiring to hear them talk about it!

waterproof pants 100% and lots of layers (thermal or otherwise). shoes you don’t mind getting wet/dirty. I felt like Iceland was a really easy country to travel to honestly. Also pay parking! got charged $200 from our rental car company after

waterproof phone holder if you’re going to the lagoons! I stayed in Reykjavik but 1000% recommend going down to the south coast / vik too

Sky lagoon over blue lagoon, Sandholt is worth the wait (braud cinnamon rolls were better though), I brought casual sneakers and never wore them (you just need hiking boots and a pair of waterproof shoes), make sure your waterproof layers are actually, truly waterproof

Skip blue lagoon and sky lagoon, there are many more lagoons around the country that are more affordable for the same experience, or with slightly different ones. My family and I splurged and went to 3, one was a clear freshwater lagoon on the side of a lake, one was sulfur based with lots of silica and had that bright blue color, and our final one being on somewhat on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean, and you could see whales!
