Dating as young as 18. Given that most girls are dating at 12 and sexually active by 14, waiting until 18 to even start dating is amazing. getting married between 20-24 is common in conservative communities.

I know that my female students (taught at an orthodox Jewish school) were encouraged to first get a very good education before marriage. Even to have a career in mind. Waaaay better than my once religion Mormon. 😳

I got married at 21 and at 19 when I was not engaged my grandmother made a comment that if we didn't get married and have a baby soon I would likely end up a spinster. Every woman who had kids in the family at the time had had their first by the time they were 20. I was almost 23 when I had my first, and ended up with 3 kids.

🥰 Love this. My great grandparents were married in an Orthodox synagogue in NY, she was 21 he was 38🤦♀️. Idk how that happened. Grand parents were also almost 20 yr age gap.

Honestly that doesn't sound too different from the ages even non Orthodox people get married. We're Christian & most of the women in our families got married around 22/23 & the men are around 25. I had just turned 22 & hubby was 21 so we were a little on the younger side.

Marrying the right person is key! Doesn’t matter how old you are when you meet or marry. It’s the most important decision of your life. I’m 2 1/2 years older than my husband and we got married when I was almost thirty four. I have told all of my nieces and nephews that the right person is worth the wait!
