this was such a beautiful story it brought tears to my eyes. I lived in a interracial neighborhood as a child which was a blessing to me. they would block off one of the side streets for a block party and all the surrounding streets and children friends neighbors all got together in August to just meet each other and have fun. there was storytelling for the children activities and games but most of all food. everybody brought something just like this lady's table there was always a story behind whatever you brought and it was served with pride. those were good days I wish that my grandchildren could experience something like that but all I can do is show them the pictures and explain how I grew up. but I pass on to them the wisdom that I learned then the stories that I learned, and most of all how to share kindness even with a stranger. thank you for this story it brought back a flood of memories.
