My mum used to pray for her blood pressure to be lower. I made her walk every evening and swapped out food choices.. she lost weight her BP normalised. Mum - “isn’t God wonderful” yes mum he is 🤣🤍

My dad (devoted Muslim) seriously planned how he was going to save up to cover my remaining college costs. Meanwhile, my mom (a “Christian”) spent her time planning a graduation party instead of addressing the actual issue. Whenever my dad asked about the financial side, she just said “God will help us.” Mind you she doesn’t practice or engage with her faith in any meaningful way. The prayers feel less like faith and more like a way to avoid accountability. It’s easier for them to hope for a miracle than to take responsibility and make a real plan. (Yes I am from Sierra Leone)
