Education and money are different things. It’s very narrow minded to think an education is only a means to obtaining a high paying job and not to develop a well rounded world view. Knowledge is never bad.

Your view on a degree is profit. Many simply value education. Also, statistically over time, degree holders make more. You used extreme edge cases. And I say this is someone who currently does not have a degree but does have a successful career.

While I recognize there is an attitude of superiority among people with a degree, reducing it to ability to an earn discussion is problematic. The people highlighted in the video as financially successful may not have earned a degree, but they never stopped learning. They had a hunger to be educated. And education goes far beyond earning capability. Without a hunger to continually educate oneself, people get left behind, not just financially.

if your view on education is to maximize profit, then you have a point. if it's to actually learn and participate in higher learning, then it's a different story. the elite already have built companies their children can take over while learning on the job. yet, they still send their kids to universities. clearly it's not to make a profit.
