@machinelearningtogo: Machine Learning from Scratch, part 1. Part 2 adds three lines to this exact program and the line turns into a neuron. #machinelearning #python #gradientdescent #linearregression #neuralnetworks
actually in reality we have Least Squares Method, that can solve this problem without iterations, just one formula for w and b

Waste of time. No ML here, there is a 200 year old concept, linear regression, one single formula.
There is also a concept, more simple, an average.

Great visualization of gradient descent! For comparison, w, b = np.polyfit(xs, ys, 1) computes the least-squares fit directly—nice way to check the learned result.

I did a similar program. why are you dividing the derivatives by len(xs)?

newbee here, not sure to understand.
is w equals the slope and b the y-intercept. if not how do draw the line on each iteration ?

could you explain better the dw and db formula? why divide the error by the number of x, and why *2?

It looks like that line represents the average of the points, so what is there to learn from that?

Yes and if you try to use the same method to find a minimum of a function you can stuck on local minimum and demonstrate hallucination :).
