Pastry cream needs to be used more for all cakes! I miss all the desserts with pastry cream when I lived in Switzerland. Usually with a flakier, Napoleon exterior and then the custard inside. There was a chocolate cake with rum that was delicious and of course the princess cake. With marzipan.
