@rommellross: Federal prosecutors just unsealed charges against two Robinhood engineers today. Their names are Hefu Chai and Huaisong Xiang, and here’s what they’re accused of. Because of their jobs at Robinhood, they had access to confidential information about which cryptocurrencies the company was about to list for trading. Prosecutors say instead of keeping that quiet, they used it to trade perpetual futures on Hyperliquid, a decentralized crypto exchange, buying in right before Robinhood made the listings public. Each of them allegedly made over 50 thousand dollars doing this between 2025 and 2026. Now they’re facing commodities fraud and wire fraud charges, that’s up to 10 years for one charge and 20 years for the other. And to be clear, these are just charges right now, they’re presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
