Make sure you use color catchers when you wash the quilt so that all the colors don’t run. Quilter here, and I’ve seen too many disasters when people wash their quilts without them.

Little Lori Anney :
Look for some powdered soap on Amazon for your vintage quilt and pillows. They wash up beautifully using that stuff. I think it’s called Retro Clean. It even will take out yellowing on lighter vintage fabrics like aprons and pot holders.
