@rs109usoutlook: There are places you visit, and then there is a place that visits your soul. The Kaaba. Standing before it, all noise disappears. No titles, no nationalities, no wealth. Just one cube draped in black, and millions of hearts circling it with the same cry: Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik. Hastings told me, 'I thought I was coming to see a building. I didn't know I was coming to be seen, to be rebuilt.' And I understood him. Because the Kaaba doesn't impress you with height or gold. It humbles you with its simplicity. It was built by Ibrahim (AS) for one purpose - to remind us that God is One, and we are one. I came with my sins, my worries, my unanswered duas. I left with tears I couldn't explain and peace I didn't know I needed. The world kept spinning, but for a moment, in that mataaf, I finally stood still. May Allah invite us again and again, and invite those who yearn. Ameen. Ya Rabb, keep our hearts attached to Your House, even when our feet are far away. Let every glance at its picture remind Hastings and me that home is not a city, it is Your mercy.
