Never using stickers I’d get as a child because I was worried I’d regret how I’d use them…so instead I collected them in a box…

I used to sleep with every single one of my beanie babies because I didn’t want any of them to think I didn’t love them.

Procrastination. Every paper I wrote was one draft and done the night before it was due, many were written so late I had to pull an all nighter. I always got A’s so I never stopped the behavior. I always said I work well under pressure

I grew up in the days when we would write out essays by hand, no computers/printers. I would get halfway done writing one page and decide I hated how my handwriting looked and I’d started again. I would repeat this over and over and then finish my assignment super last minute and still not be completely satisfied with it.

I recently realized that I learned to mask a lot of these behaviors at a very young age. Reading books became my escape and a way to keep me calm.

Every report card until junior high had excessive talking as a comment. I couldn’t sit still either. Adults would often comment on my bouncing legs. I started drinking and doing drugs in junior high. Looking back I was self medicating. While I learned to manage it, and I’m a successful adult, I often wonder what I could’ve become had I been properly medicated

I'm inattentive adhd and have a hyperactive brain, I used to daydream and stare out of the windows and was extremely shy, procrastination also I would do my homework half an hour before bed the night before it was due and would struggle, cry, breakdown etc because I couldn't do it, messy handwriting and also hyperlexia, I was far far advanced in reading, reading books meant for 8 years olds when I was 4 with ease, I was clumsy, always falling over.

Procrastinating, time blindness (didn’t have a term for it as a kid but time never felt right to me), overly talkative and then shifting to where people thought I was mute… there’s so much more I just can’t think of them right now

The frustrating part for me is that my parents tried to get me evaluated, and doctors just did not understand adhd in girls then like we do now. I was just diagnosed a couple years ago at 35.

anyone else listen better (like in a class) where you doodle or do something else? a small multi task always helps me listen more intentively, but makes it look as though I'm not paying attention at all. now I work from home and clean my keyboard with a q tip when I need to focus during meetings

I used to just sit in bed and wonder why im seeing life through my eyes. I dont see a lot of people talk about the hyper self awareness that comes with ADHD. like I was having these thoughts at 11
