You have two ropes. Each rope takes exactly 1 hour to burn, but they do NOT burn at a constant rate. Using only the two ropes and a lighter, how can you measure exactly 45 minutes? 🔥🧠🔥 The answer is: 1. Light both ends of Rope 1 at the same time. 2. Light one end of Rope 2 at the same time. 3. Rope 1 will finish burning in 30 minutes, because it’s burning from both ends. 4. The moment Rope 1 finishes, light the other end of Rope 2. 5. Rope 2 now has 30 minutes of burn-time left, but burning from both ends makes it finish in 15 minutes. 30 + 15 = 45 minutes. 🧠🔥
