@black.chronicles: "Black History Facts: He Armed a Town to Fight Racial Terror — Then Became an FBI Fugitive Hiding in Mao's China" Robert F. Williams organized the Black Armed Guard to defend Monroe, North Carolina's Black community from racial terror while serving as president of the local NAACP chapter. Branded a fugitive by the FBI, he fled into exile in Cuba and then China, where Mao Zedong hosted him and he broadcast Radio Free Dixie back into the American South. He returned to the U.S. in 1969; when he died in 1996, it was Rosa Parks who delivered his eulogy. #History #blackhistoryfacts #historicalfigures #historytok #BlackHistory
