I hated it but my husband reminded me that Air traffic control went through the same thing around 20yrs ago and it resulted in the 2nd best radar in the world and higher salaries. He has been an ATC for 30yrs.

I think the best way to look at the airports is that we are getting that expense off our taxpayer balance sheet. We are still going to get revenue from the property, just without all the expense. If they do actually plow that money into smaller regional international airports like Hamilton, Kitchener, London, etc.. that will end up meaning more direct flights from those places which would be awesome! For those that live outside Toronto, we all hate having to go to Pearson Airport, always a terrible experience, traffic is always bad, etc..
