It obviously varies from state to state but where I live, one lf the reasons for divorce IS a death. My mother is legally “divorced” from my father even though they loved eachother until his final breath. They never wanted to get divorced but due to there being no prenup or will, we pretty much had to follow the government’s rules soooo

As someone who has gone through a divorce, I don’t wish I had a prenup to keep more money from my ex, I wish I had a prenup so we both gave away less money to our divorce lawyers.

I would have zero problem signing a prenup if she asked me to sign one. Obviously I’d get a lawyer to walk me through specifics, such as we walk away with what we brought into the marriage. If she has property and portfolio she built prior to the marriage, I wouldn’t blame her one bit to protect herself. If we were married and I won the lottery and got $100 million dollars. That’s why a prenup exists to protect windfalls.

Only thing I’d add is a prenup can’t cover everything. Stuff like child custody is still up to the court.
