My parents and myself as a sister spent so much money on my brothers wedding (fav sibling) and did everything happily and they even had their own house but still my sil managed to get my brother all to her self. we literally did everything for them and it’s been months since I’ve seen my brother or hugged him or spoke to him

been married 21 years alhamdulilah girls but i wish someone told me this at the start NEVER LIVE WITH THEM, keep boundaries with love and respect, they are not ur family, loyalty is with your husband ONLY , dont over give ie time ,money , effort. only do what you are happy to maintain , ensure u are respected or keep a distance for ur mental health and ur kids and marriage sake, basically follow islamic rules and u will be fine!!

When the husband moves out of his family home, his family is seeing for the first time how much effort he will put in with them. They then wrongly blame that on the SIL 😂 like no it’s your own son/ brothers decision how much he speaks to you or lack of

She’s probably always nice and chilled with you because you don’t live with them! When you’re not living with someone it’s more like a guest situation. Also when you’re from a different culture they tend to be nicer to you (scared you’ll stop your husband from coming etc)

we rlly don’t give our mothers enough credit for having to adapt to not only living with her husband but his entire family like my mom lived in a joint family when she married and stayed that way for yearsss and I just can’t believe how she must’ve done it.
