This is 100% accurate. I went no contact with my avoidant and moved on to someone new. The avoidant came back 6 months later. He told me he had thought about me every day and I knew he’d been asking about me to a mutual friend around 4 months in. Everytime he heard a song I like, a movie we watched, he’d become nostalgic and think of me. Unfortunately the guy I moved on with was a narcissist so I ended that and me and my avoidant are back together and it’s going better than before. He is doing “the work” which essentially means better communication.

Now I understand why he tells me he can’t stop thinking about me that at times he can’t sleep and that it’s no cool. I don’t chase him nor reach out to him, it’s always him. Once he comes back after taking a week space period, we just continue our conversations like normal
