@nbcconnecticut: Mortgage rates are above 7%, but waiting for them to fall may not save you money. Experts say if rates drop, millions of buyers could jump back into the market, driving up competition and home prices. In Connecticut, where housing inventory remains tight, some realtors say buyers are finally seeing more negotiating power, inspections are making a comeback, and bidding wars aren't as intense as they were this spring. 🏠 Would you buy now or wait for rates to come down? #ConnecticutRealEstate #MortgageRates #HousingMarket #ConnecticutHomes

Agent said no way to buy. Along with property taxes it’s a no go. You’re just struggling at that point.

As a Californian, not only are rates high. Home prices nearly doubled since Covid. So 800k house is now 1.5-.1.8 million and at 7 percent rate. Yah the American dream is dead and is never coming back

the problem with buying when rates go down if the price of the home gets pushed up. ideally you could buy a house when competition is low and refinance soon after if rates drop

On the flip side, nobody who has a mortgage rate at 3 percent wants to sell right now unless they absolutely have to or you give them a lot of money to make it worth their while so they can just buy another house outright or very high downpayment, like 70 percent down
