TRENTON, N.J. -- A man from Bridgeton, New Jersey, has pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl from Trenton. Alex Torres-Lopez, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault on Thursday. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office is recommending Torres-Lopez be sentenced to 20 years in prison without the eligibility for parole under the Jessica Lunsford Act. He would also be subject to a lifetime of parole and would have to register as a sex offender. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 8, 2027. According to investigators, Torres-Lopez met the victim on Snapchat and Roblox. He is accused of sexually assaulting her multiple times in the fall of 2025 in Trenton.
