The nano second he learns the truth of the world, he'd Cobain himself. Dude cares for neither Paradis nor the rest of the world. His one obsession was finding the truth. He did not care how many had to die to get it. The reason he accepted his fate, was because he believed he was near his ultimate goal, and that his successors would eventually uncover it after he died. That was his motivation for living. And no, the truth would not then motivate him to pick a side in conflict between two groups he equally doesn't give a damn about.

If Erwin was picked the whole story would’ve changed there would be no yeagerists infact there wouldn’t even be any volunteer arc Erwin’s not gonna wait around for a year waiting for Marley to come to him the whole show would’ve gone from the apocalypse of the rumbling to Paradis preparing for a full conventional conflict

Whole point of Erwin’s character is that he couldn’t see a future for himself or anyone on Paradis past the basement. He admitted that it was a selfish dream. That’s why Levi ultimately chose Armin who has the potential to build a better future for paradis. I think it’s hard to tell whether Erwin would have been a yeagerist tbh. He is fully aware of the mountain of Scout corpses he’s built and I think he’d justify taking extreme revenge on at least Marley for that reason as he is very morally grey, and wanted to learn more about the world just to find out they all wanted his people gone; had he survived instead of Armin.
