I’ve said it before. We don’t need to force companies to pay more. That’s just wrong. Instead you could incentivize them by removing tax breaks to the companies that don’t reinvest a predetermined portion of profits into the bottom percentage of their workforce. No investments into raising wages, no tax breaks. Thats that.

I say again, it's time to bring back strong labor unions. and let's not forget the unseen villain in this... you and me, most of us shop at Walmart, most of us buy things from Amazon, how do you think they really make record profits, people have to buy their products. we don't need socialism as some suggest, we need labor solidarity to demand that wages keep up with inflation, and regulations on certain industries like insurance, healthcare and housing.

Yeah and then the employees spend their food stamps at their own employer. Corporations double dipping. More profit from low wages, more revenue from their own underpaid employees. These corporations are on welfare. Not their employees

I’m the guardian of a profoundly cognitively disabled adult. In June her SNAP benefit was reduced from $268 to $213/month until July 2027. Six weeks later, it was reduced to $24/ month because the LIHEAP credit was removed. How is she to subsist on less than $1/day?

I work for Whole Foods, which is owned by Amazon. Since the buy out WFM had continued running things the WFM way, until this quarter when we transitioned to being ran by Amazon. This week we found out our health insurance is getting both less expensive and more robust feature wise. In addition EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE is getting a 4%+ raise effective immediately. Say what you will buy from my viewpoint Amazon is investing in its workforce and we are all the better for it

Tax corporations heavily then offer credits for things like offering full time employment to a min % of employees, paying a livable wage, investing in R&D in the US, etc. Take away loopholes that encourage buying luxury vehicles, airplanes, and high c-suite pay

I have always felt that if you are a major corporation or military and you have employees who have to get SNAP benefits or Medicare or welfare to live, and they have full-time jobs in your company that you should have to write a check at the end of the year and pay back each county and state and reimburse them for your employees who have to live off welfare. If we looked at something more like that, they may decide to pay people better just to save themselves the hassle of paying back the states for the programs that their employees need to claim to live! The corporations should also loose any tax relief they are granted because they are stealing twice!
