1. If you know what ufw is you can literally just block your ports. 2. Linux is arguably better for general usage if you can navigate a terminal which is not that hard to do. Windows is bloated regardless if you unbloat it or not, it still is. Linux background processes don't even eat half of what windows does, beacuse they don't exist. 3. I agree with the driver thing, huge Linux issue icl. 4. You don't need antivirus for Linux if you download anything with a package manager 99% of times you will be fine, and if you run GitHub tools skidded then look at yourself. + Those malwares won't work for Linux because majority of workers and gamers always use windows since it's easier than Linux in their eyes. 5. never heard of online play being buggy on Linux. I played games on wine and steam and it was fine. If anything my ping was better because I don't get 100+ requests from Microsoft telemetry every nanosecond on my network.

Just search up if your game works on protonDB or not, if it works great if it doesn’t then that’s more reason to use windows or at least dual boot. Proton can often be a mixed bag of performance rather than a strict upgrade or downgrade, my friend says his warframe gets higher highs and lower lows but that’s his personal anecdote so I’ll never know whereas his helldivers runs universally shit both on windows and Linux. Idk where you got the new gen hardware problems from, my classmate does ROCm work on his 9070XT using Debian and he’s had zero issues

Good grief man😭 I don’t know what “most online games” means I think that’s just incredibly untrue. It’s fine if you’ve had a poor experience with a game or two, but don’t make this — well— frankly hit piece of a blanket statement. Every single online game i’ve played (with the exception of the kernel level anti cheat ones, but cmon man that’s common ball) has worked perfectly fine. Yes, for nvidia cards, linux does fall behind. AMD? not enough to care about anymore. We’re talking very small differences. I agree that someone who is not ready to somewhat troubleshoot should not come to linux. I feel like 99% of these problems, if you even just have the consciousness and want to try linux, are just not things to worry about.

If you game js dualboot and call it a day, unless your games have kernel level anti cheat, although a decent amount of games are built to run on Linux without proton

tbh... can't agree with you. I use cachyos (switched from Windows) and while Ray tracing performance actually lacks behind, pure rasterization works perfectly fine being on par with windows and sometimes even surpassing it. also all story games work (multiplayer and single player) and some comp games with anti cheat work as well (only the ones that actually support Linux) now to the exploit thing: yes, there are a lot of exploits targeting Linux due to it running on many servers, BUT users are not big cooperations getting specifically targeted so most websites you visit or most stuff you run won't affect you (but yeah, there's still malware targeting Linux users but it's more rare to encounter)

This take kind of an ass take. Not in the way that Linux is untouchable and perfect bc that’s untrue. A lot of these points are just not factual. Whereas windows sucks on way more important fronts that are documented and established.
