America spends the most per person on healthcare out of any other country because they don’t regulate prescription drug prices. If they did that they would be able to give free healthcare and spend less money

The US has some of the best healthcare in the world if not the best and universal health care would hurt the quality a lot and I doubt our government could do it, it’d be great if it worked but it’d be horrible for the US. I would say though that prices could be regulated more and changed

There’s what he mentioned and then there’s also just the blatant fact they overcharge us here. Like in Japan the government pays a portion of the bill sure, but the thing that really makes it affordable there is the fact their government makes the companies charge accurate prices on top of that.

Both are right tbf. As a capitalist, I still believe that universal healthcare is only fair. Hospitals charge you for every little thing used and put a 10x fee on it. The only thing is we have to cap it and only have it available for specific circumstances. And the speaker is absolutely right bout government spending, we spend our money on so much bs and are one of the most economically inefficient countries in the world even though we have the MOST. We need to use our money wisely. This “big beautiful bill” is AWFUL and is actually a socialist idea and then everyone wonders why the price of everything is way up now, ITS BC WE AS A COUNTRY GO MORE INTO DEBT WILLINGLY FOR SUCH USELESS CRAP!!!

3/4 of health problems in America are heart related, respiratory problems, or trauma and injury. Literally all of those are pretty much unavoidable in most all cases, if you’re born with a heart condition or lung issues. Why should someone who’s born with that be forced to get into unfathomable debt just to attempt to survive it
