Call it a midlife crisis… 🏃🏼‍♀️ But I’ve taken up running. I’ve been doing it for 1.5 months now and I absolutely hate it 🙂 WHO are these people that enjoy this from day one?! I see no one sharing how hard it is online. They make it look EFFORTLESS. So I thought I could show my reality in hope that it inspires other people (especially after kids) to start. Because every run for me is like…“This is awful!”, “Why did I start this?”, “I don’t think I can run for another 42 seconds?!”, “Surely this must be over soon…” I do NOT glide. I am not effortless. I am fighting for my life half the time. My legs feel heavy AF! But then I finish the run, and I feel like an elite athlete. One that looks like a tomato, but an elite athlete nonetheless 🍅 I refused to buy a single item of clothing so I didn’t use the excuse that I didn’t have the right gear. I wore what was in my wardrobe and didn’t use it as an excuse that I couldn’t go for a run because I didn’t have a cute “fit”. So here I am, still going, just trusting that one day I might enjoy it and hoping that if it’s been a notion on your mind but think it will be hard, that you’ll use this as your chance to try it ❤️ #Running #runningjourney #c25k #runningbeginner
