cats don't actually sharpen their claws, they scratch things to remove the outer shell for the fresher, SHARPER claws underneath

Claw clipping and grooming is such a nice bonding session. One of my cats doesn't like being held or have her paws touched so I ambush her when she's asleep. I'm pretty sure declawing is banned in most (if not all) of Europe because I didn't even know it was a thing

they nibble and pull the old claws off with their tiny baby teeth their precision is very high. they can bite flys and leave them crippled so they can still move amd entertain i collect them aswell as whiskers 😅

Thats why every so often i just snip the end of their claw, as it structurally weakens the outer layer so it'll crack off when they use their scratch posts... Or Atleast thats the theory i have behind it anyway...
