One of my biggest fears was if I was canoeing and there were water moccasins in it. Pretty sure that hasn’t changed so I get you. 💯💯💯

I went swimming in Alabama when I was stationed at Fort Rucker and I’m from Oregon and there are no snakes in the waterways in Oregon. So I didn’t suspect them to be in the water there. But I started swimming and next thing I saw was the head of a water moccasin racing towards me as I hauled ass back to shore. Turns out there was a whole pool of them about 3 feet below where I was swimming because somebody went out and saw that. Snakes in lakes? No way. I’ll swimming in California now no snakes here.

I was canoeing with a friend in an old rice paddy. We pushed off some marsh grass only to discover that clump was occupied. Mr. Gator did not appreciate the paddle nudge and thrashed violently. We Scooby-doo paddled out of there. Not sure our canoe touched the water on our return. 😂

Wait until you see the gators on the Cahaba 😳 We got a picture of a no less than 7' gator not far downriver from Sprott and we've even seen them as far upriver as James' in Hieberger.

My tween and teen years swimming in Woodland Lake from dawn to dusk…. I saw em and I knew they were in the water with me. Tried to ignore em. Just glad I made it out alive.

Coworker and I in a boat 🚤 rattlesnake decides they are tired of swimming in the bay and our boat was just a rest stop. Coworker beat the snot out of that rattlesnake. 😏😳😁😂🥰

Something similar happened to me in Colorado with a rattle. Id never seen one in the wild and my legs & hands started shaking involuntarily. My 22 was useless cuz I couldn't hold it.
