Cullum is accused, along with four others, of the murders of Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley in March 2024. All documents in the case were previously removed by Texas County ahead of Cullum’s death penalty trial, which had been scheduled for October. The documents stated an issue arose when a prospective juror searched the report for what trials were set.
